Science Shepherd's homeschool Earth Science curriculum for elementary and early-middle school grades is a video-based program with integrated workbooks, similar to our best-selling Introductory Science. Earth Science is presented in two tracks to better tailor the learning experience to each student. Level A includes over 90 lessons and Level B features 130+ lessons (all lessons from Level A, plus more) for a more challenging course. Each Level is presented in an easy-to-follow schedule with 4.5 minute videos (average) that is great for independent study. Earth Science is presented by Science Shepherd author Dr. Scott Hardin.

Both Levels begin with an introduction to the biblical and secular worldviews, and how those beliefs impact the study of science. Students are then introduced to various aspects of earth science, including the structure of the earth, glaciers, volcanology, oceanography, and more. Along the way, Dr. Hardin reinforces how scientific observations support the creation account in Genesis. Level B presents students with more detailed discussions in select topics.

We generally recommend the Level A course for ages 7-10, or students in grades 2-4, and the Level B course for ages 10-12, or grades 4-6. However, these are only our guidelines. When selecting the right Level for your student(s), consider their reading level and critical thinking. The free course preview and Workbook samples can also help you choose the appropriate Level. If you have multiple students and will need Level A and Level B, simply purchase a Level B bundle and add additional Level A Workbooks and Answer Key as needed.
